TIMELAPSE
It's been a busy few months since I wrote anything here - I have no idea where the time went. Suitably, I have just been writing about time lapse and slow motion filming, so the strange effects of time slowing down and speeding up have been on my mind for the last few weeks.
My writing for the Royal Photographic Society continues apace. I have now written 6 articles for their journal:
Technical: Canon 550D review
Technical: Mobile phone photography - convergence and the Universal Machine
Step-bystep: Shooting movies on DSLR cameras
Step-bystep: Editing movies from DSLR cameras
Step-bystep: Recording audio when shooting movies on DSLR cameras
My latest piece will be published in the June issue:
Step-bystep: Time & Motion - time-lapse movies and slow motion effects.
If you'd like to read them online, the step-by-step articles are being reproduced with permission on this blog here:

DAVID MCALMONT
This month has seen the launch of davidmcalmont.co.uk. Developed closely with David and his musical collaborator Guy Davies, Hutch has created a colourful, informative and concise dashboard site. We used the best currently available technology to incorporate widgets and feeds from social networks / blogs and their current Pledge campaign.
Easily updateable and easily adaptable into the future.
So far it has been going down a storm!

Christmas tidings - this month, I also worked in collaboration with illustrator and all round lovely person, Josie Willey, on a Christmas card for eOne Family - the company behind Peppa Pig.
Check it out here...
WEBSITES IN PROGRESS:

I will be playing the live score to my latest film project on January 23rd! Details to follow - obviously, I haven't finished this yet - I must be insane!

FREEEEEEEZING
So - here it is - winter.
My boat is surrounded by ice again already and the dock has become a skating rink for seagulls and ducks. The joy.
Anyway, work continues apace this month with merchandise finished for Cast, including this hand drawn poster:

This month saw the launch (allbeit low key) of my personal shopping project - BROWSERS PARADISE - check it out now and buy some stuff for your walls!
Next site to go live will be David McAlmont, which should be up and running this week as well as the long awaited Sound of The Walls - great rock 'n' roll 'n' art site.

New site and new developments
So - here it is - the new site. Woohoo.
It's been a busy few months - so much so that I only realised last week that I hadn't updated my old site for about a year. A YEAR! And I'm a web designer!
That and the fact that this year has led me in a bunch of new directions finally kicked me into action - something needed to be done.
The last 4 months has seen continued web design work for the likes of Cast, The Duke Spirit and Yoav, the beginnings of Hutch the journalist - writing for The Royal Photographic Society Journal, and the continued development of Hutch Films - with the zero budget 'Asylum' being shortlisted for 'Achievement in Cinematography' at the Southern California Film Festival. Who'd have thought?
So this new site will be much more of a diary of work as it happens, regularly updated with this blog to help me let off some steam every now and then.
Join (or like ;) my new Facebook page and I'll let you know when shit is going down.
Cheers
Will
